  • Walney Island is an 11-mile long island in the Irish Sea, at the tip of the Furness peninsula. It is linked to the mainland town of Barrow-in-Furness by the toll-free Jubilee bridge.

Biggar Bank beach is located on the more exposed west coast of Walney Island The beach here has a more remote feeling than those further north.

The beach is a mixture of smooth pebbles and sand backed by a caravan site with a large area of salt marshes beyond.
