  • Aberystwyth is a bustling family resort in the Cardigan Bay area.  It boasts a castle, an Edwardian promenade and a bandstand, as well as offering visitors some good shops and plenty of places to stay, eat and drink.  The town has a number of good beaches.

The Harbour Beach is a small strip of shingle on the south side of the harbour and marina, where the River Afon Rheidol enters the sea. It is sheltered by the harbour and a sea wall, and there are extensive sea defences here.

During the holiday season, it is possible to charter boats from the harbour for fishing trips.  Cars can be parked nearby, and this is a pleasant spot to spend a little time watching the harbour activity.
