Freshwater East Beach - Dyfed

The sweeping sandy bay of Freshwater East is backed by sand dunes and sheltered by the headland of Trewent Point. This is one of the finest beaches on the Pembroke coast and has something for everyone. It's a great family beach with conditions generally safe for swimming, although there is no lifeguard service. The beach is also dog friendly, so feel free to bring the whole family.
At the southern end of the beach is a small stream which is always popular with the kids.

The fact Freshwater East lacks a Blue Flag is testimony to the lack of development and commercialism. There are however enough facilities for most, with a nearby car park, shop, cafe and disabled toilets. In addition, the village is just a short walk away.

Back in the old days Freshwater's secluded beach made it a favourite with smugglers. These days it is popular for just about every other seaside pastime including surfing, kitesurfing and swimming along with divers and fishermen.
