St. Ishmael Beach - Carmarthenshire

Cliff Defences

To protect the base of the cliffs, which the main railway line from Swansea to West Wales runs behind, old rails and sleepers were erected along part of its length. Judging by their appearance, they must've been here for many, many years. One can still spot the odd piece of Brunel's broad gauge rail, if you keep a sharp eye out.
