Blackpool Sands Beach photo

Blackpool Sands

A view from the coast path. Before you pack the little ones into the car with buckets and spades you should know that this beach is not sand, it is fine (gravel sized) shingle which is good for sunbathing but it won't make sandcastles. Likewise, the water may disappoint young children as it is not an ideal place for paddling as the beach slopes very steeply into deep water.
