Aberfforest Beach - Pembrokeshire

Chenopodium at Aberfforest

A sprawling plant growing in shingle at the top of the beach. It may one of the Goosefoot family, named for the shape of the leaf. It has the slightly mealy appearance typical of a number of members of this family but I cannot identify the species for certain. Alternatively it could belong to a related genus Atriplex (Orache)- both are members of the Chenopodiaceae, which possess varying degrees of edibility.
