  • Gunwalloe Cove (Church Cove) (4.4 miles)

    Gunwalloe Cove, also called Church Cove, is a sandy beach in a sheltered south-west-facing cove on the Lizard peninsula. A small church, with an unusual detached bell tower, is situated at the north of the beach, hence the name. Popular for swimming, surfing and families.

  • Porthleven Beach (2.5 miles)

    Long stretch of coarse sand to the south of Porthleven harbour. Shelves steeply meaning there is only a small beach at high tide.   • Jangye Ryne Beach (4.3 miles)

    Jangye Ryne is a rocky piece of coastline on Mounts Bay, just north of Church Cove and south of Pedrigwinian, adjacent to Winnianton Farm. Parking is available behind the beach.

  • Poldhu Cove (4.7 miles)

    A small west-facing beach on the Lizard peninsula. The first trans-Atlantic radio signal ever sent was from Poldhu, now in the hands of the National Trust and part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and an SSSI. An easy walk on the South West Coast Path to neighbouring Gunwalloe Church Cove.
