Barmston Beach

The long sandy beach at Barmston sits below the Barmston Beach Holiday Park. Given its fairly remote location the beach is mostly frequented by families staying at the park.

Stretching over 2km to the town of Bridlington in the north, there is no shortage of space at Barmston even if it ever did get busy.

Barmston beach was previously awarded a Blue Flag, however, due to coastal erosion access down to the beach has become more difficult and the award was withdrawn in 2010. The beach does still have a Quality Coast award reflecting its cleanliness and facilities.

Lovely beach, however the Car Park is full of empty caravans so cars parked on verge, told by caravan park that it was ok , only to come back to a row of cars with parking tickets.
To make matters worst we saw a council van parked (it had no making on to say parking services) and they must of watched everyone park, then obviously waited and made their target for the week !!!

Lovely long stretch of beach ideal for taking your dog. Car parking is limited due to the number of disused caravans.
The beach could do with some tlc as we encountered a number of dead sea birds plus a dead seal which looked as though it had been there a number of days if not longer.
We walked up to The Cow Shed at Fraisthorpe but they were short staffed so bear that in mind if going during the week.
